Pizza Sandwich Toppings
We did the classic pizza toppings here– cheese and pepperoni. But that’s because I love pepperoni! You can never go wrong with the classics.
However, some people prefer something a little more exotic, and so those people should feel free to mix it up! The great thing here is that no matter your toppings, the Garlic Bread part of your Pizza Sandwich will kick it up a notch past your normal level of delicious. Which is what the Garlic Butter is for!
Tips on Cooking
So here’s a couple things to keep in mind when you make your very own Garlic Bread Pizza Sandwich. The first is to remember that you may need to bake it longer than the instructions say, depending on how much cheese and other toppings you’ve filled it with. Because the sandwich is baked closed face, it’s harder for heat to get in the middle to melt the cheese. Don’t forget to wrap foil over the top if it does need longer though– you don’t want your bread to burn!
The second tip is for those of us that like carbs, but don’t love carbs. The ratio of filling to bread is an important one, and if you like bread, then you won’t have a problem. The pizza sauce keeps the bottom half of the bread nice and moist, but I might recommend hollowing out the top half. The ratio will be just right. I know, it’s such a waste! But save those inside bread pieces for something else! Don’t just throw it away!
