Garlic Butter Beef Chili

Beef Chili

When the weather gets cold, I always start to crave chili. There’s nothing like a steaming bowl of beef chili with a piece of moist cornbread to warm you up. When I was a kid, we always had chili on Halloween, and it gave us the fuel we needed to go out and get tons of candy!

We love this recipe, and we’re sure you will too. Let’s talk through it.

The Base

This recipe starts with our Fresh Churned Garlic Butter. It’s a good way to start any recipe, because it sets a base of great flavor. Once the Garlic Butter is melted, add some diced onion and jalapeno and saute until they’re soft.

Add the beef and cook until browned. Then comes the classic chili flavors: chili powder, of course, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt.

If you’re not a fan of heat, you can choose to omit the cayenne. Or if you like, add more!

The Rest

We’ll add the rest of the ingredients. Tomato sauce, as well as crushed tomatoes– it’s important to have both for some textural difference. Beef broth is next, followed by the beans. We used both kidney beans and black beans. You are welcome to add whatever type of bean you want, if you have a favorite.

All of that simmers for about an hour. The chili will thicken, and be ready to eat!

Enjoy!
