Snacks
These Strawberry Banana Energy Bites are a healthy, filling snack. And it’s just in time too, as the kids are headed back to school. With a full day of school, a variety of sports, and extra curricular activities, it’s important to have good snacks.
So many “snack foods” are full of sugar or empty calories. They don’t do anyone any good. They’re not filling; you overeat and feel even worse.
Snacks work best when they contain a lot of healthy ingredients, meant to provide energy for your busy day.
Energy Bites
These energy bites are meant to give you energy! Take a look at all the healthy ingredients: oats, flax seed, chia seeds, and honey.
Oats are high in protein, fiber, and several important vitamins. They also contain healthy carbs, which is essential for energy.
Flax seeds are also high in protein and fiber, as well as omega-3 fatty acids. Flax seeds are also known to help lower cholesterol.
Chia seeds are full of healthy carbs, good fats, protein, and are stuffed with vitamins and minerals.
Honey is a great substitute for sugar! And while these ingredients are impressive, you won’t eat them unless they taste good. That’s where Chef Shamy comes in!
Strawberry Banana
Mashed bananas add a delicious flavor, but the real kicker is Chef Shamy Strawberry Honey Butter. The fruity sweetness, combined with the fresh banana, is absolutely delicious! The addition of coconut adds a nice textural element as well.
We decided to keep these bites in the freezer as we ate them. This prevents the banana from become brown, and also kept the bites from falling apart. You can do fridge or freezer– it’s up to you!
Enjoy!
